On the occasion of the 60th birthday of our Co-Managing Partner Martin Wiesmann, Berlin Global Advisors invited long-standing companions, partners and friends of BGA to a special evening at the German Parliamentary Society in Berlin. The event was opened by Ralf Welt, Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of BGA. Rüdiger von Fritsch, Partner at BGA and former German Ambassador, subsequently paid tribute to Martin Wiesmann by sharing personal reflections and memories from their time working together.
Alongside the personal occasion, the evening focused on one of the most pressing geopolitical issues of our time. Under the title “Deadlock or Transformation: What Order for the Middle East?”, Kristin Helberg, author and Middle East expert, Martin Kobler, former German Ambassador, and Dr Sebastian Sons, Senior Researcher at CARPO in Bonn, discussed the political and societal changes shaping the region. The discussion was moderated by TV journalist Anke Plättner. The debate brought together a range of perspectives on political and societal developments in the Middle East and also provided guests with an opportunity for in-depth exchange. In this way, the evening reflected the spirit of the German Parliamentary Society as a forum for political dialogue.
Our thanks go to all panellists and guests, as well as to Daniela Kluckert, former Parliamentary State Secretary and Associate Partner at BGA, who served as patron of the evening.
