BGA Managing Partner Martin Wiesmann, together with the “Expert Council on Energy & Climate”, has been awarded the economic prize for Ordnungspolitik of the German Association of Family Entrepreneurs, Die Familienunternehmer.
The prestigious prize recognizes the publication of the policy paper “The Breakthrough”, which argues for the EU to establish a truly comprehensive European ETS, to apply the principle of reciprocity in international climate negotiations, and for Germany to embrace a return to nuclear energy in order to support the expansion of renewable energy.
Martin Wiesmann is Co founder and Chair of the Advisory Council of the think tank Republik 21 and initiated, together with Joachim Weimann, Professor emeritus of Economics at the University of Magdeburg, its independent “Expert Council on Energy & Climate”.
In his speech of thanks, Martin Wiesmann stressed concern about the lack of strategic direction in energy and climate policy making in Germany and the EU.
