On May 17, 2022, Rüdiger von Fritsch presented his third book at the International Club of the Foreign Office (ICAA) in Berlin. His book „Zeitenwende-Putins Krieg und die Folgen“ offers a distinguished analysis of the developments leading to the Russian war against Ukraine and draws possible outcomes of the conflict.
At the event, Rüdiger von Fritsch discussed the current diplomatic and security situation in Europe and Ukraine together with FDP Member of Parliament Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann. The event was moderated by Friedrich-Wilhelm Kramer, a well-known journalist. The lucid discussion was peppered with pointed jokes, and well-informed insights.
The distinguished panel addressed the options currently available for resolving the conflict and Vladimir Putin’s options, the lack of possible constructive mediators, the contradictory positions in Germany regarding the stance and handling of the conflict with Russia, and the possible reactions of civil society in Russia. Rüdiger von Fritsch demonstrated with a Russian proverb that currently television and propaganda dominate the views of Russians, rather than the pressure of an empty refrigerator. The question remains, for how much longer.
In the Spiegel bestseller list of non-fiction books, “Zeitenwende” jumped from number 0 to number 6 one week after its publication.
Shortly after its publication, the first very positive reviews were published in the Süddeutsche Zeitung and on MDR Kultur.
We strongly recommend reading Rüdiger von Fritsch’s insightful and relevant analysis to gain a fundamental understanding of the current conflict in Ukraine.
