How can Europe turn its innovative strength into sustainable growth and global competitiveness?

Our Consultant Julian Gläser joined this year’s F.A.Z. Europakonferenz at Allianz Forum in Berlin, where political, business and academic leaders discussed some of the key economic challenges shaping Europe’s future.

A particular focus was on Europe’s ability to translate innovation into economic value and resilience to increase European sovereignity: from the opportunities and constraints of AI regulation, to the role of healthcare as a driver of growth, and the need to mobilise capital for technological transformation.

The discussions highlighted a central challenge for Europe: strong research capabilities and technological potential alone are not enough. Europe also needs a regulatory and investment environment that allows innovation to scale, strengthens competitive companies and turns scientific progress into marketable products and services.
